There would be no reason to buy Windows if Office were made available for Linux. However, I don't think we will see a 'Microsoft Office for Linux' any time soon. It's as efficient as any simple text editor! In Linux, I often use the text editor instead of Libre Writer for making notes, so that I haveĪ clean document in the end. I need office software for work, I am not a programmer or artist, and it really is a delight to use Microsoft Word. Editing copy (usually MSWord created) in LibreOffice is a tightrope walk. I use Linux (Debian KDE), and I am unhappy with LibreOffice.
